New Review

Peter Barnes, whose theology and preaching I respect very much, has written a review of Professor McGowan's book in vol.67 (Dec 08) of Reformed Theological Review. Because Peter holds firmly to Inerrancy, he criticises the book for rejecting this position, and believes that it gives ammunition to opponents of the gospel: "If the autographs are only authentic - whatever that means - the door is opened to doctrinal and ethical waywardness..." However, he concludes also with this gracious concession to Andrew's personal qualities: "McGowan himself is a warm-hearted believer who in no way intends that to be the outcome."
